Home Alone 27 : Snowed In

Need to go to the bar, but can’t find a babysitter? The kids will be fine at home without you for a few hours, right? Unless, of course, they track you down at the bar. The real mistake is then leaving them at the bar when you go home. Kind of makes that whole “maternal instinct” thing seem kind of an afterthought, doesn’t it?

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Tiffin woman Saturday night after she allegedly left her children alone at home when she went to buy cigarettes and then to a bar.  Authorities said patrons at Slims Saloon in Tiffin found Adriann Anne Gressman’s two children crying in the snow and brought them into the bar for their safety.

Gressman, 28, of 320 Main St. in Tiffin, is charged with endangerment with no injury. Deputies located Gressman about 25 minutes after her children were found. Authorities said Gressman admitted to leaving the children at home to go to the gas station to buy cigarettes before going to Slim’s to buy a beer.

A bartender at Slim’s said Gressman was in the establishment after her children had been brought inside and did not notice them or take them home.
