Gay Okay, Fred is Dead

The Wasilla (Alaska) High School Symphonic Jazz Choir practiced the 1975 rock opera hit “Bohemian Rhapsody” all year, planning to sing it at graduation. But when one parent complained that it was inappropriate because its author, Freddie Mercury, was gay (he died from AIDS in 1991, at 45), Principal Dwight Probasco pulled the song from the program. Junior Casey Hight, who sings in the choir, “felt it was wrong” and “discrimination,” and pointed out there’s no mention of sex in the song whatever. When she threatened to go to the ACLU, Probasco relented and allowed the performance, but ordered a stanza about “violence and killing” be deleted. (“Mama, I just killed a man / Put a gun against his head / pulled my trigger now he’s dead. / Mama, life had just begun / But now I’ve gone and thrown it all away.”)

A THOUGHT: …Because the heterosexual students should never learn that committing murder means throwing your life away. (Sarcasm)

About Chase Morgan
Chase Morgan is just your average, ordinary All-American writer. Chase began writing several years ago, but never published anything until the "Are You Friggen' Kidding Me?" blog launched in August of 2009. Chase simply got tired of standing around and just observing all of the craziness in the world, so this anxious writer sat down and wrote the first "Are YOu Friggen' Kidding Me?" article on August 19th, 2009. Now, any time something makes Chase say, "Are You Friggen' Kidding Me?", the issue get's transformed into an article. Chase is currently single, homeless and living under a bridge in South Florida.
